The HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 30 is an Ultra320 SCSI disk drive storage enclosure that delivers industry leading upgradeability, availability, data performance, and storage density in a 3U rack form factor. This unit comes standard with two 72GB 15K rpm Ultra320 hard drives. The available single and dual I/O upgrade modules, and the ability to mix and match, existing Ultra or Ultra3 components with Ultra320 make upgrades to this product quick and easy.

Support for up to 14 (1-inch) Universal disk drives for a maximum of 4.2TB of storage give the HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 30 the maximum storage capacity per square foot in the data center. A maximum single rack total of 28.4TB of storage can be achieved by combining up to 14 enclosures in a single 42U rack. Hot pluggable components such as fans and powersupplies allow server repairs and upgrades to be completed without disrupting the network operation.
